Katie Barney was born in Baltimore, and is a descendant of many old New England and Maryland families. She has lived in many places in the United States, but in moving around has always been in the diplomatic community. She has served as President of the International Visitor Centers in Cleveland and Newport, and is presently involved with THIS for Diplomats in Washington.

In addition to her New England and Chesapeake Bay heritage, Katie draws upon years of practice in the kitchen and behind her camera to create new cookbooks. Great for home or vacation use; a well-appreciated gift for any occasion.

For Heinemann Publishing she wrote Uniquely Delaware and Uniquely Rhode Island.

Katie lectures on Early American Food and Herbs; Early American Herbs; Edible Flowers; and gives inspirational talks. She is presently working on an Edible Flower cookbook
